I recently accompanied an extremely talented artist friend of mine to a gallery opening at LAB ART in the heart of Dallas’ famed Design District. It’s encouraging to see such a famed art house expand south into Dallas – only their second location outside of their Los Angeles flagship.
Founded in 2011, LAB ART features works of the most prominent and up-and-coming names of the international street art scene. Serving as the most comprehensive presentations of street art, the wide-ranging exhibition brings together works from across a variety of mediums, including painting, sculpture, drawings, mixed-media, photography and installations. The unprecedented line-up includes some of the most renowned urban artists in the world including: Alec Monopoly, Alex Mijares, Skyler Grey, MAR, LOUIS XXX, Annie Preece and Kai, among many other talents. More than just a gallery, LAB ART has ascended as the most innovative brand at the forefront of the art world.
Curated under the watchful eye of Iskander Lemseffer, LAB ART’s collection showcases a movement that will deservedly make its mark in contemporary art history. Iskander teamed up with Dallas private equity financiers Eric Rosiak and Adam Persiani to open the new Dallas gallery, spanning 4,500 square feet, located at 315 Cole Street in the heart of Dallas’ Design District.
